Course: main meals
Servings: 6
Level of Difficulty: Easy

1 1/2 cup(s) bell pepper(s), chopped (I used a mixture of red, green and yellow
1 cup(s) (chopped) raw onion, chopped
1/2 cup(s) celery, chopped
4 oz canned mushrooms, drained and chopped
1 pound(s) Oscar Mayer Natural beef franks, cut into coin size pieces (10 links)
2 cup(s) Del Monte Diced Tomatoes With Basil, Garlic And Oregano, (use 1 - 15 1/2 oz can)
8 oz canned tomato sauce, (use 1 - 8oz can)
1 serving(s) 1 packet Sazon Tropicale seasoning
3 cup(s) cooked brown rice

Spray skillet with cooking oil.
Saute peppers, onions, celery and mushrooms for 4 minutes.
Add hot dogs. Sprinkle with Sazon seasoning. Mix well. Saute for 5 minutes.
Add diced tomatoes and tomato sauce. Mix well. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
Serve over brown rice.

1 serving = 1 cup of hot dog mixture and 1/2 cup of brown rice

*Notes* I used turkey hotdogs. The Sazon spice is sometimes sold at WalMart, but I had to order mine b/c I couldn't find it locally. This recipe is NOT a casserole.

Hmm, I'm not sure I can get behind this one. I am pretty sure Hailey is the only one that might try it. What is Sazon?

@Heather, Sazon Tropicale seasoning is a Latin spice blend. It's very good in this recipe, so I may start using it more. There are several different ones, and the box tells you which blend is best for different meats/meals.
